Solar PV Systems
Clients usually contact APG to cut electricity bills, reduce carbon footprint, safeguard against geopilitical uncertainty or gain energy independence — but they rarely know what size system suits their roof, budget, or consumption. APG handles this end to end: a site survey and shading/roof assessment, consumption analysis to right-size the array, and a system design that balances panel count, orientation and inverter choice against the client's goals and budget. From there APG manages MCS-compliant installation, DNO/grid notification, commissioning and handover. The result is a system engineered for the property rather than an off-the-shelf estimate — whether that's a modest domestic rooftop or a larger commercial array with a higher DC/AC ratio for maximum yield.

Battery Storage
The common client requirement here is storing daytime solar (or cheap off-peak grid electricity) to use in the evening, plus a degree of resilience. APG advises on the right usable capacity based on the client's actual load profile rather than headline kWh figures — e.g. sizing a SigenStor system by stacking modules (17.5 kWh usable from two 10.0 modules, scalable up to ~48 kWh per inverter). APG covers hybrid vs AC-coupled retrofit decisions, inverter pairing, and time-of-use optimisation so the battery charges and discharges intelligently against tariffs. For clients adding storage to an existing PV system, APG assesses compatibility and retrofits accordingly.

Off-Grid & Backup Design
Some clients need to run independently of the grid, or simply keep the lights on during outages — rural properties, sites with weak or expensive grid connections, or homeowners wanting security against blackouts. APG designs these systems around generation, storage and load management sized to keep the property running without mains supply. The key component APG specifies here is the Gateway: it sits between the grid and the home as the control and isolation point, and on a grid outage it automatically disconnects and switches the property to solar and battery within milliseconds. Without a gateway, a battery generally cannot power the home during an outage — with one, APG can deliver whole-home or partial-home backup, integrate a generator or EV (vehicle-to-home) for extended resilience, and configure single- or three-phase to match the supply. This is what turns a self-consumption system into a genuine backup/off-grid solution.

Energy Assessments (EPC)
Clients often need an EPC for compliance — selling or letting a property, meeting MEES rental standards, or accessing certain grants and finance — and want to understand how to improve their rating. APG provides accredited EPC assessments and, crucially, links the findings back to its other services: an assessment highlighting high energy costs or poor efficiency becomes the basis for a targeted recommendation on solar PV, storage or wider improvements. This positions APG not just as a certificate provider but as the partner who can then act on the assessment — closing the loop from "here's your rating" to "here's how we improve it."
